GUIDELINES

Outlined below are general guidelines regarding our scholarship program.

•  Financial Need: Demonstrated financial need is the primary criterion used when considering scholarship applications. Families may be required to provide proof of household income and/or other documentation necessary to verify financial need.
• Application Deadline: Scholarship applications must be submitted by the deadline established by MPFA for each applicable season or program. Applications received after the published deadline may be considered only if scholarship funds remain available and at the discretion of the MPFA Scholarship Committee. Submission of an application does not guarantee an award.
• Maximum Award: Scholarship assistance may cover up to 60% of the applicable MPFA program registration fee, per player, per season.
• Award Amounts: Scholarship awards are not guaranteed at the maximum level. Based on available scholarship funding, demonstrated financial need, and the number of qualified applicants, MPFA may award partial scholarships at varying amounts.
• Family Financial Responsibility: Families receiving scholarship assistance are responsible for paying the remaining balance of the player's program registration fees after the scholarship award has been applied. The remaining balance must be paid according to the payment schedule and deadlines established by MPFA. Families are expected to maintain their account in good standing throughout the season. Failure to make required payments or communicate with MPFA regarding a financial hardship may result in the player's participation being suspended and/or affect eligibility for future scholarship assistance.
• Eligible Expenses: Scholarship funds may only be applied toward MPFA program registration fees.
• Excluded Expenses: Scholarship funds may not be applied toward expenses outside of standard program registration fees, including, but not limited to, uniforms, tournaments, team events, travel expenses, camps, optional training opportunities, lodging, transportation, or other team-related expenses.
• Volunteer Requirement: Families and/or players receiving scholarship assistance are required to complete a minimum number of volunteer hours for MPFA. Volunteer expectations will be communicated as part of the scholarship award.Season-by-Season Awards: Scholarships are awarded on a per-season basis. Receiving financial assistance for one season does not guarantee scholarship assistance or the same award amount in any future season.
• Scholarship Committee: The MPFA Scholarship Committee is responsible for reviewing applications and determining scholarship awards based on demonstrated financial need, player eligibility, available funding, and the overall number of applicants.Final Determination: All scholarship awards are subject to MPFA approval and the availability of scholarship funds. Scholarship assistance has no cash value and may not be transferred to another player or family.

ELIGIBILITY

Scholarship assistance is available only to players participating in an eligible MPFA program who demonstrate financial need. Financial need is the primary criterion used in determining scholarship eligibility, and families may be required to provide proof of household income and/or other documentation necessary to verify financial need.

Extenuating Circumstances: Based on available scholarship funding and the volume of applicants, the MPFA Scholarship Committee may consider documented extenuating circumstances when reviewing an application from a family that does not otherwise meet the established financial need criteria. Consideration of extenuating circumstances is at the discretion of the Scholarship Committee and does not guarantee an award.
