EXPANDING ACCESS TO COMPETITIVE ATHLETICS

About Chance Sports

MPFA has initiated a collaboration with Chance Sports, a local nonprofit organization established by State Senator James Coleman. The mission of Chance Sports is to create equitable opportunities and break down barriers for athletes who may otherwise be unable to participate in competitive sports due to financial constraints. This organization addresses the challenges faced by aspiring athletes by partnering with competitive sports clubs and offering scholarship funds directly to athletes who demonstrate financial need. 

Scholarship Program Details

Athletes who are part of clubs working with Chance Sports have the opportunity to apply for scholarships directly through the organization. These scholarships are offered on a sliding scale, covering 75%, 50%, or 25% of the total annual costs associated with participating in a sport. This includes club fees, travel expenses, and the cost of necessary equipment. Applications are carefully reviewed, and upon approval, funds are provided directly to the athlete’s family in the form of a digital debit card, ensuring prompt and secure access to the awarded support.
